MK Eitan Cabel (Labor) spoke harshly against the settler movement on Tuesday, saying "right wing post-Zionism" is a worse threat to Israel than Hizbullah or [Iranian President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad, and calling the settlers "real-estate Zionists."

Eitan added, "the greatest enemy of Zionism is the continuation of the occupation and the settlements."

This evoked an uproar among right-wing politicians, while the Yesha council said that the "settlers in Judea and Samaria continue the path of the founders of the Labor movement, the pioneers that settled the land."

"Only the disconnected Cabel can call 300,000 Israelis, the salt of the earth, 'post-Zionists'. We shall continue to reside in the Samaria mountains to defend Cabel's home in Rosh Ha'ayin," continued the council of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria and former Gaza settlements.

The Binyamin and Samaria Citizens' Committee said that "the extreme Left has lost its head and its heart. He who pities his killers, will end up being cruel to his brothers."

MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) blasted Cabel by saying that "all [he] has left is a plank of hatred to hold on to."
