Likud MK Danny Danon joined the chorus of voices reacting to an IDF raid on a Gaza-bound protest flotilla on Monday, calling the effort a "planned provocation."

"First and foremost, I and every Israeli deeply regret the tragic loss of life that occurred today at sea",  Danon said in a statement. "This event should not have happened and would not have happened had Hamas supporters not made a deliberate decision to confront Israeli authorities."

"The organizers of these boats must feel the shame at the loss of life they are directly responsible for. Without this planned provocation, there would have been no loss of life today," the MK added.
