MK Miller calls emergency meeting over Sheikh Salah speech

Knesset Education Committee chair Alex Miller (Israel Beiteinu) said he would convene an emergency meeting regarding controversial Islamist Sheikh Raed Salah's Tel Aviv University speech, Israel Radio reported Wednesday.
According to Miller, the sheikh has asked the Finance Ministry to take action against the university.
Sheikh Salah spoke to hundreds of students at Tel Aviv University, after Haifa University had refused to allow him to speak following protests on the campus. Among other issues, Sheikh Salah had called for liberation of Jerusalem from Israeli authority, and criticized US President Barack Obama's call for a Palestinian state on 1967 borders with land swaps, saying that such land swaps mean an expulsion of Palestinians.
