Public leaders should call on the ultra-Orthodox and on Arabs to reduce their birth rate, the finance minister's senior adviser, Dr. Avi Simhon, said Tuesday at a conference in Sderot, according to Army Radio.

Simhon said they should be told that its irresponsible and that "you cause harm to your children and to your community."

He added that, "An ordinary person checks how many children he can support, and the taxes he pays go to those who have eight children without being able to support them."
