Malawi gay couple pardoned after international pressure

The Malawi gay couple who were sentenced to fourteen years in prison for holding a public engagement celebration were freed after the President of Malawi gave them an unconditional pardon ,following international outrage at their sentence.
Homosexuality remains illegal in Malawi as it does in most African states.
