The Haifa District Court convicted Mohammed Matar on Sunday of the premeditated murder of his 30-year-old neighbor, Faida Matar, in the Galilee village of Nahaf in December 2009.
According to the indictment, 41-year-old Matar came to Faida's house with a knife, in order to kill her and rob her house.
After beating and stabbing the mother of three, Matar stole NIS 1,700 from her home.
Matar denied the charges, but was not able to explain evidence against him, including why Faida's blood was on his clothes.
