A 27-year-old man was apprehended Monday in the brutal exploitation of a mentally impaired couple in Haifa. The man, Alon Bar Shishat, allegedly befriended his neighbors upon learning that they were disabled, then took over their apartment. The couple never complained, and the abuse finally ended when the father of one of the victims filed a complaint with the police. The suspect is charged with holding the couple against their will, blackmail, and threats of violence. The indictment will be presented in the next few days.
