Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal said "resistance is the only remaining option, all others have failed," speaking Saturday at the "Intifada Conference" in Tehran.
The Hamas leader's comments were made in reference to Palestinian
Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's current bid for Palestinian
Statehood at the United Nations Security Council.
The conference was first held in 1991 to commemorate the Palestinian Intifada. Its' focus is "the restoration of Palestinians' rights,
including their rights to return to their homeland and determine their
own fate, and on the liberation of Palestinian territories occupied by
Israel," according to Iranian news outlet PressTV.
