Meretz MK Ilan Gilon received a death threat on Sunday evening over his stance against the deportation of African migrant workers, according to a press statement released on Monday.

"An unknown caller telephoned his home on Sunday. Gilon wife answered and told the caller her husband was not home. The caller proceeded to threaten his life," a spokeswoman for the MK told The Jerusalem Post.

"These violent responses won't deter me, in these crazy days, from continuing to fight for justice," Gilon said in a statement.

Gilon has filed a complaint to police.
