Meretz party leader Zahava Gal-on said on Sunday that Prime Minister Netanyahu should stop demanding preconditions from the Palestinians in order to move forward with peace negotiations.

Referring to a speech made earlier by the prime minister, marking the opening of the Knesset winter session, Gal-on dismissed Netanyahu's hopeful words."Instead of making a historic decision based on 1967 borders," she said in a statement, his demands for the Palestinians to recognize a Jewish state prove he is "captive of the extreme right."
