WASHINGTON – Israel’s ambassador to the US Michael Oren on Thursday for the first time hosted Jeremy Ben-Ami, the executive director of J Street.

The meeting, which Ben-Ami has long sought, followed months of tension between the government and the left-wing lobby. Both sides put out statements noting the visit, with the embassy describing it as part of its efforts to reach out to a wide array of US Jewish groups.
