Every hour that passes, captured Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit's situation becomes more like that of Ron Arad, MK Shaul Mofaz (Kadima) told Army Radio on Monday morning.

Mofaz said the only way to move forward in efforts to release Schalit is through a prisoner exchange, and called on the government to "stop scaring us" about the backlash, saying "We know how to deal with terrorists."

Mofaz also said Hamas was experiencing dilemmas and that Israel is in a position to help them.
