Mofaz: 'Government evading decision on Haredi enlistment'

Chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee MK Shaul Mofaz said on Monday that "the government is evading making an official decision regarding the enlistment of Haredim," in an interview with Army Radio.
Mofaz attacked the government saying "there is no leadership and there is no long term vision."
"This country cannot in 15 years time drop on the young shoulders of 30% of its sons and daughters the service in the armed forces.  The government is evading making an official decision."
"The country of Israel has no choice. Why should my sons pay 4-5 years, while others are shirking the responsibility?" he said in the interview.
Continued Mofaz, "Even the religious leaderships understands that we cannot lead the Israeli population to idleness and poverty all these years."
