Defense Minister Ehud Barak confirmed the recommendation to appoint Yair Naveh as the next IDF deputy chief of General Staff on Sunday evening.

Naveh will serve under incoming IDF chief of general staff Yoav Galant who is scheduled to begin serving in his new post in February 2011.
