Navy rescuing sinking Moldovan ship 20km from Ashdod port

A Moldovan ship Sunday morning began sinking some 20 kilometers off the coast of Israel, near the Port of Ashdod.

The ship was reportedly carrying 3,500 metric tons of iron.

Rescue forces from the Navy and Air Force were involved in an operation to save the ship's crew. It was reported that 11 of the ship's officers and crew were rescued.
