"The resumption of the peace process is a vital strategic interest for the State of Israel," Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said on Saturday.

Netanyahu thanked US Secretary of State John Kerry's for his "great efforts" ahead of the resumption of the Washington-led negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. "I expect the talks to be held in a serious and responsible manner," the prime minister added.

Netanyahu stated that his goals are to prevent a binational state and the establishment of "another Iran-sponsored terrorist state on our borders."
