Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday spoke at the swearing-in ceremony for new Supreme Court President Asher Grunis, emphasizing the importance of a strong and independent legal system in a democratic society.

"IN every place there is not a strong justice system, rights are not guaranteed," Netanyahu said at the President's Residence ceremony.

Netanyahu praised outgoing Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch for her work as Supreme Court president.

"The attacks against you and against the court did not succeed," Netanyahu stated, praising Beinisch for protecting the status of the court.
