Yossi Cohen, who was nominated to be the 12th head of the Mossad by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Monday night, expressed his thanks for the nomination when speaking to reporters outside of his home Tuesday morning.

"I want to thank the Prime Minister for his trust in me," said Cohen. "I am very excited about the significance of this nomination."

"[The Mossad] is an important organization, and I intend to do everything in my power to carry out successful operations and provide the country with good intelligence, in a quiet, humble, and secure manner," the new Mossad head said.

"I wish the State of Israel and the Mossad fruitful years filled with security and good intelligence."
