Nine suffer smoke inhalation in Ma'asiyahu Prison fire

Nine people suffered injuries from smoke inhalation on Thursday in a fire at Ma'asiyahu Prison in Ramle.

MDA paramedics treated four seriously injured, three moderately injured and two lightly injured parties on the scene before evacuating them to Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot.

Israel Radio reported that prisoners started by the fire by igniting a mattress in one of the cells. The fire was extinguished, according to the report.
