Obama offers support to Uganda following bombings

WASHINGTON — US President Barack Obama spoke with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Monday to express his condolences for the loss of life in twin bombings in the African nation's capital.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says Obama offered to provide any support or assistance needed in Uganda. A Somalia-based militia with links to al-Qaida has claimed responsibility for the bombings that killed 74 people during Sunday's World Cup final. The US State Department has declared the al-Shabab militia a terrorist organization.
