Olga Borisov, from Rishon Lezion, was sentenced on Wednesday to eight years in prison for killing her four-year-old son Alon Yehuda, by drowning him off a Bat Yam beach on August 28, 2008. The Tel Aviv District Court in July convicted Borisov of manslaughter, rather than murder, after prosecutors reached a plea bargain with her. The court had found that she was plagued by bouts of depression and was in an unstable mental condition when she killed her son. At the same time, a psychiatric evaluation determined her fit to stand trial.
