Former prime minister Ehud Olmert slammed the government for deporting foreign workers' children in an interview with Israel Radio on Friday.

"These kids learn in Israel, love Israel, and speak Hebrew," Olmert said to Israel Radio. "They are an asset to the state."

Olmert continued: "The claim that they threaten the Jewish nature of the state is demagogic, populist and false." He recommended that Israel close its borders to infiltrator, and guessed that Israel will not deport the children in the end.
