Ophir Paz-Pines receives Harvard fellowship

Harvard University’s Institute of Politics selected former Interior Minister Ophir Paz-Pines for one of its prestigious fall fellowships on Sunday.
Paz-Pines, who is currently taking a break from politics, will be joined on the three-month program that begins in September by former US Education Secretary Margaret Spellings, former Haitian Prime Minister Michèle Pierre-Louis, former Detroit mayor Dennis Archer, former Miami police chief John Timoney, and longtime Boston Globe political reporter Susan Milligan.
"It's a big honor and compliment to be the first Israeli chosen for the program in its 30 years," Paz-Pines said. "It's also a big honor for Israel at a challenging time for the country in the world. I hope to use my time at Harvard to gain experience and knowledge that will help me in serving my country in the future."
