Pakistan suicide attack kills 2 police officers

ISLAMABAD — A suicide car bomber attacked a police station in northwest Pakistan early Saturday, killing at least two officers and wounding several others, some of them critically.
Police officials said the blast also toppled a mosque next to the police station in Karak, in the country’s North West Frontier Province. The area is not far away from Afghanistan.
The wounded were transported to a nearby hospital.
No one claimed responsibility for the attack, but militants have targeted police, security forces and government offices in various parts of Pakistan in recent years to avenge military operations in the country's tribal regions.
