Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday night appealed to the US and EU countries to intervene with Israel to stop it from “escalating” its security measures against Palestinians in response to the murder of the three Israeli teenagers, a PA official in Ramallah said.

The official said that Abbas and the PA leadership were “deeply concerned” that Israel would take severe measures that could plunge the entire region into violence and bloodshed.
