Palestinians reportedly willing to resume talks in 2 weeks

Indirect peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians will resume within two weeks, according to a Palestinian report published Wednesday.
The London-based Al Hayat quoted Palestinian sources as saying that indirect talks with Israel will last a maximum of three months, in accordance with a proposition made by the United States. An American mediator is expected to be the go-between.
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas reportedly agreed to renew indirect peace talks only after immense international pressure. He reportedly asked that the United States directly intervene in the talks, including determining the future borders of a Palestinian state. The Americans are said to be only willing to relay messages between the sides and do not want, at the first stage, to be involved beyond the scope of just mediating the talks.
The Jerusalem Post could not confirm the report.
