Peres: Whole nation is proud that we have people like that

President Shimon Peres said Wednesday that the whole nation is mourning the loss of the helicopter crash victims but is proud that there are people like that.

"The character of the country and the strength of its children met for a short moment in this tragedy," Peres said in relation to the helicopter crash that killed six IAF servicemen and one Romanian commander.

Before speaking at a large ceremony for the "Israel is Beautiful Council" Peres requested that the audience partake in a minute silence to honor those that died in the tragedy.
