Police: British tourists attacked in Ashdod nightclub

Two British tourists were attacked and one was injured after being assaulted by youths in an Ashdod nightclub on Saturday night, police said on Monday.

The tourists had arrived on a boat which docked at Ashdod port, and went out on Saturday evening to the Kroft nightclub.

The tourists attempted to sit on the bar, when they were attacked by a group of youths who punched them and threw chairs at them, police said.

One tourists was moderately injured. Police arrived on the scene and arrested a 17-year-old suspect from Ashdod who was identified as being an attacker.

The teenager proceeded to assault police officers, before being arrested. An Ashdod court extended his custody by two days on Sunday.
