Police in the Center have arrested a 16-year-old teenager on suspicion of raping and sexually molesting a 15-year-old girl over the course of four years.

The suspicions came to light after the suspect, who has a criminal record, was arrested on suspicion of sexually molesting a different girl.

The alleged offenses took place in bomb shelters and in the boy's home, police said, and included beatings. The girl came forward to file a complaint only after being encouraged to do so by family members, according to reports.

The suspect has dropped out of school and resides in a hostel for youths from broken homes.

The teen's custody was extended by a Tel Aviv Youth Magistrate's Court by three days.
