Galilee district police raided Wednesday night dozens of illegal arms traders in northern Israel, arresting 34 and capturing large amounts of weapons including machine guns, some of which were used in criminal activity in the north, Israel Radio reported.

In recent months, an undercover agent was operating among the traders, assisting the operation.

The suspects will be brought Thursday morning before Acre Magistrate's Court for a remand extension.
