July 26, 2010 14:41

Police Insp.-Gen. David Cohen said Monday that security plans for Thursday's gay pride parade had been confirmed.

The threat of protests from the haredi community was one of the potential issues raised in the meeting with Jerusalem District Commander Major General Aharon Franco. The police chief also highlighted the special sensitivity surrounding the event, as the timing coincides with the anniversary of the shooting in  a Tel Aviv gay youth club that left two dead in July 2009.
