Representatives for jailed spy Jonathan Pollard have issued a fresh appeal for his release to US President Barack Obama following the hospitalization of Pollard's 95-year-old father.

According to Pollard's wife, his father's illness is both unexpected and quite grave. Pollard's request includes his desire to "kiss his father one last time."
