White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is in Israel for the weekend for a private visit.

Emanuel is likely to meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, but a final date for their meeting has yet to be set.

Emanuel at one time announced he would bar mitzva his son at the Western Wall, and the event is likely to take place during the current trip. Whether the bar mitzva is celebrated at the holy site or elsewhere, due to the well-publicized intentions of extreme right-wingers to protest the rite of passage, is uncertain.
