'Rapist former IDF officer to ask court for early release'

Private Ataf Zahar, a former IDF officer convicted of ten counts rape and demoted from the position of colonel, intends to ask a military court tomorrow to parole him after serving three of the six year-sentence handed down to home, Israel Radio reported Sunday.
The female soldier Zahar raped, now 27, has requested that the court deny his request for early release.
