A member of Hamas's armed wing, the Izzadin a-Kassam Brigades, was killed by an explosion in his Rafah home in the southern Gaza Strip late Wednesday night, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported.

The explosion, a suspected "work accident," was under investigation by Hamas security forces, according to the report. The man killed was reportedly Ali Nayef al-Haj, a 20-year-old resident of the central Gaza Strip.
