Iran will help Lebanon in gas and oil exploration, according to a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Lebanese government on Wednesday, a source at Lebanon's Energy and Water Resources Ministry told Beirut's Daily Star.

Hezbollah affiliated Al-Manar news channel reported that the cooperation agreement in energy R&D was worth $50 million.

Lebanon has has complained to the UN over the demarcated maritime border recently signed by Israel and Cyprus that allows the two countries to exploit natural resources within their respective economic zones.
