In an interview with London-based newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, an Iranian source said the Mossad tried to assassinate Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during his last visit to Lebanon.

According to the source, Iran prevented attempts by the Mossad to kill Ahmadinejad through Iranian opposition forces living in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq.

The source said Teheran is aware of the activities of the Iranian opposition who said "sold their souls to imperialist and Zionist forces."
