Report: Obama stresses support to Abbas efforts in launching peace process

US President Barack Obama reportedly stressed his support to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on the phone late Thursday evening, official PA news agency WAFA reported.

WAFA quoted Abbas' spokesman  Nabil Abu Rudeina as saying that Obama also emphasized the need to exploit the current opportunity by acting fast to keep up the momentum.

Abbas, for his part, stressed the Palestinian commitment to a two-state solution and the need to reach a solution in the nearest time possible, the report said.
