Palestinian Authority security forces have arrested more than 25 members of Hamas over the past 48 hours, AFP reported Thursday.

The Jerusalem Post reported earlier that nine Hamas supporters had been arrested by the PA in Nablus, Kalkilya, Ramallah and Tulkarm, and that most of those arrested had been released from Israeli prisons in recent weeks.

AFP reported that some of those arrested were in possession of explosives. A Hamas source denied this, saying that they "were in possession of funds for distribution to prisoners but we are unaware of any possession of explosives or weapons."
