Report: PMO exploring removal of Shaul Mofaz from FADC

The Prime Minister's Office and the coalition leadership are looking into a way to remove MK Shaul Mofaz (Kadima) from his position as chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Army Radio reported on Thursday.
Mofaz has been leading a hard line against government policy since entering the position as chairman of the committee. Until now means were not taken to have him removed because Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu feared losing Likud chairmanship of the Knesset Finance Committee. At least of one the committees must be run by the opposition.
