Report: 'Son of Hamas' author may be deported from US

Bestselling author Mosab Hassan Yousef, whose account of his life as a top Hamas man's son earned him great acclaim around the world, may be deported from the US, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday.
The publication quoted US officials as saying Yousef, who converted to Christianity and moved to the US after serving as an informant for the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), posed a potential security threat.
His request for asylum was turned down early last year on grounds that he had participated in terrorist activity. He will appear before a San Diego judge on June 30.
If the court rules against him, Yousef will be deported to the West Bank, where he is generally regarded as a traitor.
