TOKYO - US forces will provide water to help cool the reactors at Japan's stricken nuclear plant north of Tokyo, Kyodo news agency quoted Japanese Defense Minister Toshimi Kitazawa as saying on Friday.

Engineers have been working around the clock since an earthquake and tsunami struck to weeks ago in a bid to stabilize the six-reactor Fukushima complex and avert a catastrophic meltdown.
