S. Korea explores co-hosting Olympics with N. Korea

SEOUL - South Korea's main opposition party said on Monday that it would look at how the two Koreas could co-host the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, hoping to use the Games to improve relations between the rivals, media reports said.
Pyeongchang, some three hours drive east of Seoul, won the rights to host the Games last week, succeeding at its third attempt to bring the Winter Games to South Korea for the first time.
"I will seriously review the possibility of holding the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics jointly with North Korea," Yonhap news agency quoted Democratic Party leader Sohn Hak-kyu as saying at a party meeting at Pyeongchang's Alpensia resort.
The two Koreas are still technically at war having only signed a truce to end the 1950-53 Korean War.
