Noam and Aviva Schalit, parents of kidnapped soldier Gilad Schalit, met in Jerusalem with Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou at the King David Hotel on Thursday.

Noam reiterated at the meeting his request that the European Union member states pressure Hamas to free his son and allow him visits from the Red Cross.

The Schalit family asked the EU to put as much pressure on Hamas to release their son, as they had on Israel to ease the blockade of Gaza after the flotilla affair.

Papandreou responded that he would do all he could on behalf of Schalit.
