Sheetrit announces support for Mofaz in Kadima primary

Kadima MK Meir Sheetrit announced Monday that he would be supporting Shaul Mofaz for the leadership of Kadima rather than current party chair Tzipi Livni.

The Kadima primary election was scheduled to take place on March 27.

Sheetrit said that Livni had failed to form a government following the general election in 2009 and has continued to lose support in polls.

Sheetrit said that Mofaz offers the party the opportunity for the type of change necessary for the party to reach its goals in the next general election.
