Shekel strengthened on Fischer IMF disqualification

The news that BoI Governor Stanley Fischer has been disqualified from the race for IMF chief due to his age has strengthened the shekel.
The shekel-dollar exchange rate fell 1.11% to NIS 3.96/$ and the shekel-euro exchange rate fell 0.56% to NIS 4.902/€.
On Saturday, when Fischer first announced his intention to make a bid for the IMF position, the shekel weakened against leading currencies.
