US President Barack Obama and other Western leaders’ insistence that Islam is a religion of peace “creates the perfect climate for more terrorism,” the son of a top Hamas figure in the West Bank who was disowned by his father for cooperating with Israel and preventing suicide bombings said on Sunday.

Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of a senior Hamas leader in the West Bank who became a top informant for Israeli intelligence, told The Jerusalem Post Annual Conference in New York on Sunday that “the Jewish nation is dear to me.”

“When I see nations in a fight against the Jewish people, it hurts me,” said “the Green Prince,” the nickname by which he was known in Israeli intelligence circles.
