JUBA - South Sudan's army on Friday accused Khartoum of bombing a village near their undecided common border, and said Juba was preparing to defend against any possible advance by ground troops in the area.

"There has been an air bombardment by northern forces in Unity state, in the morning yesterday and again in the afternoon. Three people were killed in the morning," Philip Aguer, spokesman for the southern army, said.

A spokesman for the northern military was not immediately available to comment.
