Spain's Socialists concede loss in parliamentary election

MADRID - Spain's ruling Socialists conceded loss to the center-right People's Party in Sunday's parliamentary election, Socialist party spokesman Jose Blanco said on television.

The PP was heading for a landslide victory, taking 44 percent of the vote, or 187 seats in the lower house, with 78 percent of polling stations counted.
