A stolen Caravaggio painting, known as "Taking of Christ" or the "Kiss of Judas," was recovered and an alleged international art theft gang was dismantled by police in Germany and Ukraine on Friday, INTERPOL reports.

According to the INTERPOL report, three Ukrainians and one Russian national were detained in Berlin, and 20 alleged accomplices detained in Ukraine, in a joint-operation led by Germany's Federal Police, the Bundeskriminalamt, Germany's GSG 9 special operations unit and Ukrainian police.

The painting, reportedly worth tens of millions of Euros and considered a national treasure in Ukraine, was stolen from the country's Museum of Western European and Oriental Art in Odessa in July 2008.
